Position: Full Time Term until March 2026 (Subject to renewal)
Location: Cambridge Bay
The Kitikmeot Friendship Society (KFS) is a non-profit organization established to create and
implement unique programs addressing families and individuals in the Kitikmeot Region. Under the
direction of the Regional Manager, Kitikmeot Shelter Operations, the Transitional Housing
Coordinator will support KFS in Fulfilling its mandate and responsibilities.
This position will manage the women’s transitional housing shelter in Cambridge Bay. They will
provide settlement services including crisis intervention, counseling and outreach support to
women staying in the transitional house. They will be responsible for completing assessments to
identify settlement goals that will assist the residents to integrate into the community. They will also
provide coordinated case management with stakeholders to include appropriate referrals, advocacy
and ensure continued support for the clients housing goals. Other responsibilities include
coordinating and facilitating tenant meetings; support groups; social, recreational, and educational
programming events.
The position requires a highly motivated individual who is flexible with working hours, has the
capacity to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team. The candidate will be expected to
have 2-5 years’ experience in a mental & social services work setting (experience in the housing
sector is also an asset). The candidate is also expected to have a high school diploma. A diploma in
Social Services Work or an equivalent field is an asset but not required. Those with equivalent work
experience are encouraged to apply.
This position has a starting salary of $30/HR, Northern Allowance of $10.04/HR. Staff housing and
relocation costs are not available. Employment requires an acceptable criminal record check and
